"Cynthia is a miracle worker!"
E.P., Pasadena, California

"I came to Cynthia when I was dealing with an acute back injury, and not only did I feel exponentially better after each session but I actually felt more ease in movement then I had even prior to my injury.  I always learn so much from her and I leave feeling smarter physically and empowered mentally.  Cynthia is a great teacher."
A.F., Los Angeles, California

"The Amazing Cynthia Birney!  I grew an inch in an hour!"
E.H., North Haven, Maine

"For a period of five years, since I fell and injured my left knee, walking has been increasingly painful.  Cynthia taught me a different way of walking that alleviates the pressure on my knee.  The results are miraculous.  Now I look forward to walking several miles at a time and can sleep without knee or leg pain."
C.R-S., Washington, Maine

"Cynthia has been exposing my brain to a new awareness of movement through Feldenkrais teachings for over 3 years... I find Feldenkrais a perfect complement to my practice of yoga."
L.D., Rockland, Maine

"A Feldenkrais lesson has the same subtle yet monumental effect as playing in a spring rain, when you redirect riverlets of water simply by encouraging the natural flow to continue on it's path by removing the blocks which create dams.  Lessons with Cynthia have given a new meaning to 'go with the flow'."
M.D., Camden, Maine

"Cynthia has an uncanny ability to figure out what's going on in your body."
D.D., Boothbay Harbor, Maine

"After my shoulder surgery, Cynthia taught me ways to move and to rest in bed that reduced post surgical sleep deprivation enormously.  Her movement of my back, legs, arms and head brought relaxation to my shoulder long before it was safe for me to stretch and move myself in ways I yearned to do.  Now, as I paddle my kayak, I praise Feldenkrais and attend Cynthia's weekly class for the pure pleasure of it."
J.M., Rockland, Maine

"I had a life changing trauma recently.  I missed my step at a speed bump on the ground and my forehead hit a metal fence as I fell to the ground.  A gash over my right eye spilled blood, while my mind and body went into shock so that I felt no pain.  I was taken to a hospital for emergency sewing-up and then had a long 24 hour wait after a brain scan.  Was I going to have a stroke or die before the wait was over?
I am writing this a month later, so we know that I lived.  Injury, maybe, but slight and certainly not hemorrhaging of blood in the brain for a major disability.  Feldenkrais lessons with Cynthia a few days after the mishap loosened up my body and liberated my mind from the freeze-up from the trauma.  Exploring easy, gentle movements done with Cynthia's hands have given me the grounding for more confident progress.  At 84, I am thankful."
M.G, Glendale, California

"For the past 4 years I have attended a weekly class in the Feldenkrais method of body awareness and movement.  The class is conducted by Cynthia Birney, a certified Feldenkrais teacher.  While I have no doubt as to the effectiveness of the method, I feel very strongly that Cynthia’s professional approach and organized method of instruction greatly enhances the program and the end results.
The results I have personally experienced in increased range of motion, improved movement and body awareness as well as overall well-being encourages me to highly recommend Cynthia and her lessons to anyone interested in improving body function and pain management."
