In these lessons, Cynthia uses hands-on techniques of gentle, noninvasive touch and verbal cues with the student to create experiences of comfort, pleasure and ease in movement. The lessons are tailored to the individual's needs and concerns. The student is fully clothed, usually lying down on a specialized table with pillows, rollers and blankets to create support during the lesson.
The precision and potency of the contact, as well as the kinesthetic rapport between student and teacher, activate the inherent intelligence of the body to shift toward deeply powerful, natural patterns of movement. The student effortlessly remembers lost or forgotten ways of moving and regains vibrancy of intention and action. The result is an increase in overall well-being, a reduction or elimination of pain, and a greater understanding of more practical, enjoyable and authentic possiblities for moving. Life opens up as greater awareness in sensing, feeling, thinking and moving become a gratifying part of daily activities.
